Summary: The first "man" in Sara's life to love her unconditionally? Her brother. Pre-series childhood fic. Sometimes, a sibling is the only one you can run to.
Disclaimer: Sara and her family aren't mine. I'm only borrowing them for a bit. I promise to return them to TPTB when I'm done. Scout's honor. Title comes from the song by Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, and Gillian Welch.
Notes: This has been sitting on my hard drive forever, half done. I really wanted to finish it because I wanted to put out there the idea that Sara had some support growing up.

Mystery Solved  
So, I'm back from the mall, one Dunkin' Donuts caramel iced coffee and one copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire richer, and I thought I'd post this before I forget. :)

Sighing, Grissom pulled off his glasses and rubbed at the area of his forehead between his eyebrows. He reached for the pill bottle that sat at the corner of his desk and leaned back into his chair. Chasing the medication with a gulp of water, he glared tiredly at the stack of forms that lay before him.

Summary: Seven-year-old Matthew Sidle-Brown is not a happy camper.

Notes: Family Fluff. I have no idea where this came from, especially considering the fact that I thought I was in a angst mood. I think I might miss my brothers. :) Also, given a little practice, I think Sara could be very good with kids. This was my chance to explore that.

It didn’t take Grams long to notice the car’s unusually silent atmosphere as she settled into the passenger seat with a little help from Warrick. When she shot her grandson a questioning look, he simply nodded toward the back seat where Sara sat with their son. The seven year old’s arms were folded tightly across his chest, his mouth set in an angry scowl.

Summary: Warrick comforts Sara after the events of Nesting Dolls. For the purposes of this fic, Tina doesn't exist. Nobody will complain about that though, right? :)

When Warrick finally reaches Sara’s apartment, the door is surprisingly unlocked. Encouraged, he knocks softly as he turns the knob and lets himself inside, ever mindful of how fiercely she guards her privacy. He’d expected, in a best-case scenario, to be forced to stand pathetically outside her barricaded apartment, nearly begging to be let in. In a worst-case scenario, he thought he might find her curled at the bottom of a bottle, emotions locked away and refusing to let herself be comforted.

Addison closed the office door behind her and sank into her desk chair. She closed her eyes and leaned back, enjoying a few moments of peace and quiet before getting back to work. It had been an extremely long day, and she still had a pile of paperwork to finish before she could go home, or more accurately, back to the hotel, for the night.

Triste  
Title: Triste

Summary: Olivia misses Alex, and its causing problems at work. After a psych evaluation, Elliot finds Olivia in a bar. Set soon after Alex goes into WPP.

She was well into her third beer when she felt the warmth of a familiar hand on her shoulder. She tensed. It took all of her self-control to keep from shrugging him off.

At this moment, she wanted nothing more than to tell him to go the hell away. That, and another drink. She had finally gotten to the point where her body had gone mercifully numb, and if she was lucky, another beer would shut off her brain completely.

Elliot slid into the stool beside her and waved off the bartender.
